Research Master of Science (MS) in Biomedical and Health Informatics

Our in-person MS program covers the breadth of biomedical informatics foundations and applications.

  • Start Term: Autumn quarter only
  • Application Deadline: December 1, 2025

Research Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical and Health Informatics

Our PhD program is an in-person, research-focused program that provides comprehensive study and training in the foundation and application of biomedical informatics.

  • Start Term: Autumn quarter only
  • Application Deadline: December 1, 2025

Research Postdoctoral Studies

Our postdoctoral research program is an on-campus opportunity for scholars to advance their expertise in biomedical informatics foundations and applications.  Applicants who do not already hold a PhD are typically expected complete the Research MS first.

  • Start Term: Autumn quarter only
  • Priority Application Deadline: First consideration will be given to applicants who indicate interest by March 1, 2026.

Clinical Informatics Fellowship 

The ACGME-accredited Clinical Informatics Fellowship is offered in partnership with UW Medicine Information Technology Services and the Department of Family Medicine.

This is a two-year, on-campus program that combines hands-on rotations in UW Medicine Information Technology Services with a didactic curriculum based on the Online Master of Science in Clinical Informatics & Patient Centered Technologies (CIPCT) program.

  • Program Start Date: July 1
  • Application Deadline: November 15

Teaching Scholars Program (TSP)

The Teaching Scholars Program (TSP) is a one-year professional development program for educators in the health professions who have a passion for teaching and a desire to become academic leaders.

Online Master of Science in Clinical Informatics & Patient-Centered Technologies (CIPCT) Program

The CIPCT program, administered by the School of Nursing, prepares students to lead in the field of clinical informatics and patient-centered technologies.
