Background:
Dr. Villavicencio received his BA and MD from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He completed a Pediatric residency at Children’s Memorial Hospital, now Lurie Children’s Hospital. After finishing, he worked as a general pediatrician as a US Naval officer at Cherry Point Naval Hospital in North Carolina where he oversaw implementation of early electronic health records. He left the Navy and has worked as a pediatric hospitalist at Seattle Children’s and affiliated partner regional hospitals since 2005. He later received a Masters degree in Clinical Informatics from Northwestern University and is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Hospital Medicine, and Clinical Informatics.
