Shuhua Xu is now pursuing a PhD in BIME at the University of Washington. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Fudan University and her master’s degree in Computational Biology and Quantitative Genetics from Harvard University. She is interested in bioinformatics and computational biology, and her previous research areas included population genetics, metabolomics, and spatial transcriptomics. Her current research focuses on developing deep learning methods for the analysis of genome-wide assays. Her long-term goal is to translate complex genomic data into clinically meaningful insights that can support disease diagnosis, risk stratification, and precision healthcare.
