Project Summary

In collaboration with Herbert Sauro (bioengineering), and building from the success of the SBOL development, we have begun a four year project extending the SBOL standard and building a user community of synthetic biology researchers and informaticians. The SBOL standard provides an interaction language for describing and sharing synthetic biology designs and components, and it’s goals include promoting reuse and modularity in design. The goals of this project are to strengthen and broaden the standard, develop validation services, and demonstrate successful storing of knowledge sharing and design interoperation. We also plan a series of workshops and outreach programs to grow the community and user base.
