Postdoc Coursework Requirements


The Biomedical and Health Informatics (BHI) coursework requirements for all non-degree seeking NIH National Library of Medicine (NLM) funded BHI postdoctoral trainees are listed below. These must be completed by the end of their two-year fellowship:

  • Enroll in four of the eight core BIME courses required of the BHI graduate students. One of these four must be BIME 530: Introduction to Biomedical & Health Informatics
  • Enroll in at least one of BIME 590 or BIME 591 offering each quarter (excluding summers)
  • Lead at least one BIME 591 colloquium or BIME 598 special topics course
  • Participate in the UW Summer Biomedical Research Integrity (BRI) series

 

Satisfactory Progress:  All requirements above are expected to be completed according to BHI’s Satisfactory Progress Guidelines, including a Quarterly Student Progress Report.
