Erin Doherty is a Biomedical Informatics PhD student at the University of Washington. Her research interests focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning for digital health, including natural language processing, electronic health records (EHRs), and human-centered approaches to improving clinical software. Erin currently researches automated speech recognition (ASR), AI, and machine learning methods to identify auditory verbal hallucinations (AVH) in schizophrenia-spectrum disorders. Her prior work includes automated EHR summarization research through the UW’s National Science Foundation I-Corps Innovation Hub, and professional experience in software engineering across industry, healthcare and government as a Presidential Innovation Fellow at the US General Services Administration.
