The current fellowship faculty roster includes 16 faculty with expertise including clinical pathways, quality improvement, improvement science, natural language processing, machine learning, inclusion medicine, clinician well-being. 18 board-certified clinical informaticians are part of our rich collaborative environment.

Our fellows have access to a host of resources above and beyond the fellowship faculty. The BIME department has 21 core faculty, 57 extended faculty and over 100 MS, PhD and postdoctoral students between its research and applied degree programs. BIME faculty have a diverse range of expertise, from foundational to applied research and informatics practice. The University of Washington is an immensely collaborative space and all faculty are available as potential mentors for fellowship projects.

BIME has collaborations with many other UW Departments, Microsoft Research, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and other local high tech and health services organizations. Fellows are encouraged to pursue electives. Our fellows have done electives in the Seattle area, in other states, and also other countries, within both academic and industry environments.
